Raised by generations of artists, my spirit is insatiably curious. I truly cannot remember a time when I wasn’t creating. I can trace my exploration of different mediums and the natural world back to my early childhood. My inspiration is deeply rooted in the natural world. I find that I am often mesmerized by the play of light which delightfully illuminates an array of color as I gaze at the trees, mountains or out at the ocean. I lose track of time and am my happiest when I am creating.

I began formally studying fine art in high school; graduated from college as an Art History major and Asian Studies minor; expanded my studies to include a Master’s Degree in Museum and Special Education; and since attending graduate school, I have continued to take post-graduate fine arts classes.

Over the years, I have experimented with a wide range of art including drawing, ceramics, photography, ephemeral art, collage, needlework, interior and landscape design. However, painting is my passion. Whether I am creating a watercolor, oil, or an encaustic* painting, I let the alchemy of light and color silently express a moment in time.

I hope that my work continues to intrigue my viewers as their eyes move over my compositions—the play of light and color, textures, and the deliberate building of layers are there to remind you of the complex and wonderful world in which we all coexist and the beautiful moments and memories we create every day.
